Weekend Project

I had this past weekend all to myself. What happens when I’m left to my own devices? Mainly baking/cooking (Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls and Skinny Loaded Nachos), cleaning, and decorating. See how fun I am? On Saturday, I set out for Astoria thrift shops in search of some frames based on the idea of a gallery wall. My first stop was a complete bust, besides The OC trivia board game I found for $3 and that the library was just around the corner. Then I traveled to Unique Boutique, which had an amazing array of books and clothes. My final stop, The Second Best Thrift Shop, yielded all sorts of treasures—three frames for $12.

The final outcome! The painting in the middle is from a street vendor in New Orleans, which was already hanging on my wall.

I loved this frame just the way it is. The art is an artist’s postcard and the little guy is a bobbly head from my collection.

This frame was originally dark silver, but I wanted a brighter look. I used three coats of Martha Stewart’s Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Craft Paint in Beach Glass. In love with the beautiful texture! The art is a blank card from a friend that I never used.

Still in search of frames for this postcard and paper art.

Window sill decor.

On a side note, totally fangirling over Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He. Is. So. Beautiful. Aaand just like that, Monday is off to a great start. Enjoy your day.  :)

  1. Umm an OC trivia board game?? I need to play! I would dominate that! Love the gallery wall! So cute and colorful. Might need to copy when I have a whole house to decorate soon :)
