1. New Jimmy Eat World & City and Colour albums. I will always have a soft spot for Jimmy Eat World. I grew up on them (still remember listening repeatedly to “Kill” on my MP3 player on the bus to middle school) and they continue to wow my ears and pull at my heart. Damage seems more in line with their older stuff rather than their last album, which makes me happy.

I’ve only recently gotten into City and Colour and I think they’re fabulous. A bit on the melancholy side, but perfect mood music. They released The Hurry and the Harm a few weeks ago and it doesn’t disappoint.

2. 10 Signs You’re Having Your Quarter-Life Crisis from Buzzfeed. Such a freakin’ sucker for 20-something articles, but this one mixes sentiment with humor, so it’s pretty perfect.

3. J. Cole’s “Crooked Teeth” and Dragon Inn 3’s “Up in the Business.” I cannot get these songs out of my head. Remember when I said I love rap with good lyrics? “Crooked Teeth” is the definition of my favorite rap. The lyrics are beautiful.

Love yourself, girl, or nobody will
Oh, you a woman? I don’t know how you deal
With all the pressure to look impressive and go out in heels
I feel for you
Killing yourself to find a man that will kill for you

Crooked Smile (feat. TLC) – Born Sinner (Deluxe Version)

I hope you like it, too. The rest of his new album is just as good.

This one is so upbeat and FUN and summer. Honorable mention to “Hold On” by Alabama Shakes.

4. The Office. Um, obsessed again with this show. If you don’t know this by now, I’m kind of a TV freak. Getting caught up in a show is my weakness. Faves include Friday Night Lights, Scandal, The OCOne Tree Hill, anything Kardashian (I KNOW DON’T HATE ME), Grey’s AnatomySuits, The Voice, and of course, The Office. The thing with The Office is I stopped watching after Michael left. How good could it really be without the Michael Scott, I thought. Answer: hilarious. Have already put a serious dent in season eight and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

5. Darling Magazine. Came across the online version of this magazine recently and immediately added it to my blogroll. I wholeheartedly believe in its mission, plus it has a lovely aesthetic and awesome content. We need more mags like this.

Does anyone else feel like July is going to be a month of adventure? I have a good feeling about it.
