I got to thinking yesterday about a person who changed my life and doesn’t even realize it.
This past January, I met the new art professor at Geneseo. Since then, she has become a mentor and an inspiration to me, in life and in art. It is because of her that I discovered the type of art that I truly love to do, which is bookmaking. She dedicated so much of her own time to helping me work through my writing and artwork, and to turning my vision into reality. She is incredibly honest, hardworking and talented.
I hope I grow up to be like her someday. To lead the kind of life that she lives and loves, full of creativity. To be selfless in the support of someone else’s dream or passion.
So Leslie, if you are reading this, thank you. Your kind words yesterday meant more than you know.
